The Air and Space Education Institute is the non-profit educational services organization the serves to provide aerospace educational opportunities to students in grades 7 – 12 that live in the southeastern Kentucky region.

The director, Dr. Tim Smith, has been working to design and implement aerospace education learning content and providing leadership for the past 20 years. He has served as the director of ASEI and Big South Fork Aerospace Academy since 2015.
